This is a sculpt and shape product. The dark part you apply to places you want to hide, like the hollows of your cheeks, a double chin, the side of a large nose. The light side is the highlighter, so that is the part you would put on your cheek bones, your forehead, down the side of your nose. The highlighter makes parts you want to show off stand out. It's like plastic surgery without the surgery part!!! I like this little compact because its together in one place. I have these from the pro store as two separate blush pans in my blush palette. This is nice to try for someone who has never sculpted before. It makes a HUGE difference to your face. It can literally make your face look 10 pounds lighter. I use a small angled brush (MAC 168) to do the sculpting (darker color). And then use a contour brush (MAC 109 I believe) to highlight. The contour brush is recommended to use as sculpt or contour (hence the name), but I really like the angled brush for that. It really gets into the hollows of the cheeks and makes you look like you have fabulous cheek bones. If you don't have access to a MAC store, most other lines have products similar to this, or you can just buy a really dark blush or bronzer. I think every makeup company has a highlighter product. So if you weren't born with good bone structure, get out there and do it yourself!
